I think of these five poses as a little love letter to myself. Our bodies show up for us every day without us ever asking, and it’s so important to say thank you.
- Reclining Bound Angle Pose: This heart opener always feels incredible, offering crucial benefits like stress relief, increased circulation, and enhanced lung capacity, which in turn improves respiratory function. Lay here, breathe deeply, and receive the goodness.
- Reverse Savasana: At first glance, it might not look like much, but if you sit at a desk all day, this pose could become your new best friend. It’s fantastic for improving posture and offers relief from pain in your upper back and neck.
- Assisted Puppy Pose: One of my favorite ways to open the front of the body, this pose stretches the spine, upper back, arms, hips, and all those areas craving a little extra love.
- Hip Floss: Our hips, especially in women, hold so much tension and emotion. Move slowly through this pose and use your breath. With each exhale, release any emotion that no longer serves you.
- Legs Up the Wall: My preferred inversion, offering the benefits of a handstand without the effort. It’s incredibly rejuvenating, reversing blood flow and sending fresh blood throughout your entire body.
