Does EMS really work?

All Things EMS

We get this question all the time and the short answer is yes, of course it does or we would never have invested all of our own money into something we didn’t think was life changing.

But, we’re already convinced, so let’s get into some science to understand some of the claims that a 20 minute EMS workout is equal to 2+ hours in the gym. Seems too good to be true, but we live in the future now, and it’s not!

EMS stands for electro muscular stimulation and has been used in physical therapy for 60 years to help build strength back to muscles after an injury or to help with muscle atrophy. In the last 15 years EMS has evolved from helping people with all kinds of injuries and disabilities to helping people reach their fitness goals. It makes sense, EMS was originally used to build muscle in specific areas, so let’s use it to build muscle and burn calories all over the body!

With EMS you are working your whole body for the entirety of the 20 minute session. Because the EMS suit is bypassing your brain and contracting your muscles for you, you have no other option but to be fully engaged for the entire workout.

There is no other workout for example, where you can be focusing on your arms, but have every other large muscle group working and completely activated. EMS contracts up to 90% of muscle fibers and can help your body do up to 80 contractions per second. There is just no way our body would be able to achieve this on its own.

Because you are able to do so many more contractions, and are working your entire body the whole time, you don’t need to work out as long. It all just makes sense. There are so many studies that show how EMS can help with back pain, bone density, full body toning, loss of belly fat, balance, and muscle development. If you are looking for the quickest and most effective way to change your body, lose weight, and gain muscle, you’re going to love EMS.
